Instructions

  1. 1

In a bowl, combine sugar, active dry yeast, and warm water. Let it sit for 10 minutes until it starts to foam up.

  2. 2

In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the foamed yeast mixture, olive oil, and plain yogurt. Mix until you have a slightly sticky dough.

  3. 3

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and gradually add more flour, kneading for about 10 minutes until the dough is not too sticky and not too dry.

  4. 4

Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it double in size for an hour.

  5. 5

Divide the dough into balls and stretch each one into an oval shape. Use a rolling pin if preferred.

  6. 6

For the garlic butter, melt unsalted butter and mix with crushed garlic, chopped cilantro, mint, and salt. Parsley can be used as an alternative.

  7. 7

Heat a cast iron pan until hot, then add the naan. Once it starts to bubble, add some garlic butter on top, flip, and let the other side cook through.

💡Ensure the pan is well-heated for the best texture.
  8. 8

Spread more garlic butter on top before serving.

Helpful Notes

  • â—ˆUse a rolling pin to easily shape the naan.
