Middle Eastern Stuffed Grape Leaves

Middle Eastern Stuffed Grape Leaves with rice, ground beef, and spices made easy in the instant pot for a flavorful homemade dinner. These are seriously better than any takeout option. The tender grape leaves wrap around a savory filling of Calrose rice and spiced beef, and the lemon juice adds a zesty brightness that I can't get enough of.

The Recipe

Instructions

  1. 1

Rinse and soak grape leaves in Calrose short grain rice for a few hours, then strain.

  2. 2

Mix the strained rice, ground beef, and listed spices to create the filling.

  3. 3

Find the rougher side of the grape leaf, cut off the thick stem, and add filling to the center.

  4. 4

Thin out the filling like a log, fold the bottoms over tightly, then both sides, and roll it up while pinching the edges in.

  5. 5

Season a steak with salt, pepper, and allspice.

  6. 6

Add oil to your instant pot and sauté the steak quickly on both sides.

  7. 7

Add an absurd amount of garlic, sliced potatoes seasoned with salt and pepper.

  8. 8

Layer in the grape leaves, add more garlic, water, lemon juice, and salt.

  9. 9

    Pressure cook for 40 minutes.
