Garlic Herb Truffle Mac and Cheese

Garlic Herb Truffle Mac and Cheese is the ultimate comfort food with gooey cheeses and a hint of truffle oil. Growing up, mac and cheese was always a staple at our holiday table, but this version is dressed up for a grown-up palate. With the richness of gruyere and the subtle earthiness from the truffle oil, you’ll find yourself dreaming about it long after the last bite.

Instructions

    Cook your pasta through, drain and set aside.

    For the sauce, add butter to a pan. Optionally, use compound butter, then add flour.

    Mix and toast for a few minutes, then gradually add whole milk and heavy cream, one half cup at a time.

    Once each half cup is fully mixed in, add the next half cup.

    Season with garlic powder, black pepper, and add truffle oil if desired.

    Add freshly grated gruyere, white cheddar, parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese, half a cup at a time, to avoid a grainy cheese sauce.

    Optionally, add garlic herb borscht and cheese for extra creaminess.

    If needed, add salt, then add in fresh herbs like chives and parsley.

    Mix the pasta into the sauce, then transfer to a deep baking tray.

    Top with freshly grated mozzarella cheese and panko breadcrumbs.
